GlassHouse Technologies to Provide Storage Consultancy Services to Thomson Reuters
Framingham, Mass., January 14, 2009 – GlassHouse Technologies, a leading independent IT infrastructure consulting and services firm, has agreed to provide consultancy services to Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, in an effort to find opportunities to improve storage capabilities and customer service.
The majority of the data Thomson Reuters amasses is generated from its global financial markets operation, with additional data being generated by online content and video streaming.
As part of the Thomson Reuters integration, GlassHouse will help develop a common set of processes that maintains the strengths of the separate storage environments, while also improving efficiency for the combined organization. This will lay the foundation for a single storage environment, which Thomson Reuters can manage in line with future business developments.
“As with any business, the ability to improve efficiencies, cut costs and reduce risk is extremely important to stay ahead in today’s competitive market,” said Anthony Dickinson, principal consultant at GlassHouse Technologies. “Thomson Reuters is intrinsically a very data intensive business, so data storage is an extremely important part of its business. As this can potentially prove to be extremely costly and time intensive, it is essential that data is stored in a way that can best service the business and that capacity is well planned and continually cost effective.”
