Mark Shirman, President and CEO
Mark Shirman, has nearly 25 years of entrepreneurial experience in IT services. Before founding GlassHouse, Mark was executive vice president of corporate development and CTO at Convergent Group where he executed a combination of operational and marketing strategies that resulted in a successful public offering and the subsequent sale of the business to Schlumberger Corporation. In 1985, he launched a new breed IT consulting company called Innovative Information Systems Inc. (IISI) which was focused on emerging technologies and application development. He served as CEO of IISI until its sale to CDI Corporation in 1990. Mark received his BA in Economics from Brandeis University and his MBA from American University. He serves as a board member of the Boston Public Library Technology Council.
Ken Hale, Chief Financial Officer
Ken Hale comes to GlassHouse from AptSoft Corporation, an enterprise software company focused on the alignment of existing systems with business processes. Prior to AptSoft, Ken held the positions of CFO and Treasurer of NaviSite (NASDAQ - NAVI) and was a member of the company's operating committee. He holds a BS in biochemistry from Colgate University and a MBA from Northeastern University. He has been an instructor of auditing and taxation at Northeastern University's Graduate School of Business Administration and University College. Ken is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Josh Klein, Chief Operating Officer
Josh Klein is responsible for GlassHouse operationss, including consulting strategy, sales management, and service delivery and execution. Prior to GlassHouse Technologies, Josh was vice president of consulting and management services at EMC where he drove 400 percent growth of the company's consulting business in the Americas region. Before EMC, Klein was the distribution industries sector executive for IBM Global Services, where he achieved more than 150 percent year-to-year sales growth for the company's Integrated Technology Services practice. Combined, Klein brings over 15 years of storage consulting experience to GlassHouse. In addition, Klein is a former U.S. Navy Commander who served his country overseas in both Operation Desert Storm and the government’s global war on terrorism.
Richard Scannell, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Richard Scannell is a co-founder of GlassHouse Technologies. In his role as SVP of Sales and Marketing, Richard is responsible for GlassHouse's global sales force and worldwide sales strategies. He also leads the marketing team, in branding and communication efforts. Prior to GlassHouse Technologies, Richard served as President and COO of UpSource, a start-up company providing outsourced CRM services. Before UpSource, Richard headed a $30 million global information technology organization supporting a $10 billion sector of Motorola with operations in Chicago and Scottsdale, AZ. He managed 160 IT engineers and ran a 365x24x7 operation with 25,000 square foot of data center under his supervision, encompassing storage products from most all the major vendors in industry in SAN, NAS and DAS configurations. Prior to this role at Motorola, Richard was Project Manager for an international CRM system deployment, rolling the system out to 2000 agents who supported 70,000 internal customers and over 100,000 transactions per week. In the early stage of his career, Richard held software engineering roles with Motorola and prior to that with Ericsson. Richard holds a BSc. in Computer Science from University College Cork, Ireland.
Michael Burstein, Senior Vice President Business Development, International Division (Founder of MBI Group and Integrity)
Michael Burstein has over 20 years of entrepreneurial and managerial experience in the storage, information protection, and IT services arena. Michael founded MBI Storage and Data Protection Group, and is also the founder and CEO of MBI-Israel, the leading storage company in Israel since 1985, and a co-founder at Integrity Systems, the leading IT services company in Israel. Michael serves as member of the board of numerous technology companies, from start-ups to publicly traded companies. Michael holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Technion, the Israeli institute of engineering.
Andy Norman, Senior Vice President, International Division
Andy Norman has over 18 years experience managing people, processes and technology. At Xyratex, a former IBM facility, he setup a new storage business unit and then led a management buy out to form Sagitta. He built the company from 10 people and $3 million in revenue to 50 people and $25 million in revenue, creating one of the UK’s leading independent providers of high performance storage networking products and storage consulting services. In 2004, Andy sold Sagitta to GlassHouse Technologies, where he continued to lead the UK establishment and managed services operation before moving into the SVP, International Division role. Andy is a graduate of Brunel University with a Bachelors of Science and Masters in Engineering.

Doron Rosenblum, General Manager
Doron has more then 20 years of experience in the IT services business, in various managerial, operational and technical positions in enterprises, start-up companies, and IT service providers. Prior to the acquisition of MBI-Israel by GlassHouse in 2007, Doron served as MBI's General Manager for 5 years. Under Doron's leadership, MBI’s business doubled, and so has the number of employees and strategic customers. Prior to joining MBI, Doron established and served as the CEO of Ayeca, a start-up company which developed software infrastructure for Telco's, and prior to that – as the CIO of the largest media group in Israel – Yedioth Aharnoth. Doron holds BA Cum-Laude in economics and business administration, from the Tel Aviv University.
Turkey
Emre Pekar, General Manager
In 2004, Emre established MBI-Turkey. As the General Manager of MBI-Turkey, Emre is responsible for the day to day business and technical operations, short and long term strategy developments and finance operations. Under his leadership MBI-Turkey grew to support critical data protection systems in some of the leading companies in Turkey and the Middle East. Emre has a degree in Management Information Systems from the Bogazici University, Istanbul.
UK (LTD)
Paul Hammond, Managing Director
Paul Hammond is the UK Managing Director at GlassHouse Technologies UK. Paul joined GlassHouse as the Director of Professional Services for the UK region. Before joining the GlassHouse team, Paul held the position of UK Managing Director at global storage solutions provider, CNT. Throughout his time working in IT services, Paul has developed a proven track record in delivering IT solutions, having enabled some of the world’s leading businesses to move, store, manage and protect their corporate data.
Prior to this, Paul spent 13 years working in the Oil & Gas industry working for several major international organisations, including Halliburton, Trafalgar House, Shell and Kvaerner.
Paul held the position of Head of Information Systems for Kvaerner Oil & Gas where he was responsible for development and service delivery of business applications, including the consolidation of five regional IT service delivery centres.
During his time working for Kvaerner Paul was appointed as the Global Y2K Project Director for the Oil & Gas division and successfully managed business risk while delivering significant IT improvement.
Paul holds a HNC in Process Plant Engineering from Richmond upon Thames College. |
